Pride month has arrived and we can’t wait for the festivities to begin! From parades to festivals, gays, lesbians, transgender people, queers and everyone in between will all be celebrating. They’ll be embracing who they are and fearlessly loving whoever they choose to love — love is love.
Pride is a time for us to catch up with friends and family and most importantly, it’s a time to get out and be with our community in safe spaces. And whether that’s celebrating at a big party or chilling at a small get-together, all you need is great company, some luscious cocktails and a fabulous soundtrack. Music and Pride go hand in hand. Wherever you end up during Pride you’ll definitely hear hits from current and past pop divas as well as gay anthems — songs that directly speak to and strike a chord with the LGBTQ+ community. (Think Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, Madonna’s Vogue or Village People’s YMCA.) There’s a reason why gay anthems resonate with LGBTQ+ audiences, they unapologetically inspire listeners to be who they are and proudly live their best lives. Who wouldn’t want to feel inspired and empowered to be their best self? Exactly.
